This is so true. Asami does need Mako - right now, while she’s adjusting/accepting what happened and who her father really is. But Korra is the damned Avatar. Someone for her to truly rely on is an absolute necessity, since the rest of the world is relying on her. She does have Tenzin, but she needs someone besides that, someone to relate to and to be there for her. She needs a team. She needs Mako, and Bolin, and maybe even Asami. But she needs Mako most, since he’s the only one who seems even remotely capable of supporting her well enough. Even as just her friend, but he’ll never be able to do that as just her friend because even though she’s given him up it won’t be enough for her in the long run and hopefully it won’t for him either. And Asami can go be happy with Bolin and they can all have babies and save the world together.
